Riyadh: The National Advisory Committee for IFAT 2026 officially began its work with a meeting at the National Center for Waste Management (MWAN), where representatives from 10 government bodies and Messe Mnchen GmbH gathered to launch preparations for hosting this major international exhibition on environmental technologies.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, the representatives discussed the exhibition's strategic goals as well as its technical and organizational details. They also reviewed the roles of all participating entities and established joint coordination mechanisms. This comprehensive planning aims to ensure the event's readiness and alignment with the highest standards, ultimately advancing the development and efficiency of the waste management sector both nationally and globally.
Making its Middle East and North Africa debut, IFAT 2026 will be held in Saudi Arabia for the first time in January 2026. This renowned international exhibition specializes in waste management, water, and recycling, drawing experts, investors, and key environmental solution stakeholders from around the world.
Hosting IFAT is a strategic move for the Kingdom, strengthening its global presence in the environmental sector and advancing its transition towards sustainability and a circular economy, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. MWAN, in collaboration with government and private sector partners, is developing a world-class regulatory and logistical framework.
This effort will facilitate a high-quality international event, showcasing the Kingdom's readiness, boosting investment opportunities, encouraging knowledge exchange, and enabling innovative environmental solutions.
