Riyadh: Riyadh Art, in collaboration with L'Institut Fran§ais in Saudi Arabia, has introduced 'La Fabrique,' a dedicated space for artistic creativity and cultural exchange located in Riyadh Art Hub in JAX District.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative, which is scheduled from January 22 to February 14, is part of the ongoing cultural partnership between Saudi Arabia and France. La Fabrique serves as an open, creative platform designed to function as a living laboratory. It allows artists to develop, test, and refine their ideas within a collaborative environment. This space encompasses a wide array of contemporary artistic practices, such as performance art, digital and interactive arts, photography, music, cinema, and other participatory forms.
The venue provides the public with the opportunity to engage directly with the creative process as it unfolds, offering insight into the production pathways and the evolution of artistic works over time. The approach aims to enhance the presence of art in public spaces, bringing it closer to the community.
French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Patrick Maisonnave commented that La Fabrique represents a new phase in Saudi-French cultural cooperation. He affirmed that bringing artists from both countries together in a shared creative space facilitates the exchange of expertise and ideas. He also noted that the initiative supports contemporary artistic expression, reflecting the depth of the cultural partnership and highlighting the role of art as a bridge for communication and mutual understanding between societies.
Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) Senior Director of Public Art Omar AlBraik stated that the launch of La Fabrique extends Riyadh Art's commitment to supporting contemporary artistic practices and expanding access to creative development pathways. He added that the space provides a platform for collaborative work, which strengthens Riyadh's cultural ecosystem and its evolving creative scene.
