Red Sea Film Foundation Triumphs with Four Awards at 12th Saudi Film Festival

Dhahran: The Red Sea Film Foundation celebrated a triumphant conclusion to its participation in the 12th Saudi Film Festival, hosted at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran, by securing four prestigious awards for films supported by the Red Sea Fund.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the foundation's success includes the film Hijra, which was honored with the Golden Palm for Best Narrative Feature Film. Irkalla: Gilgamesh's Dream was awarded the Golden Palm for Best GCC Feature Film, while A Matter of Life and Death received a Jury Special Mention. Additionally, actress Sarah Taibah was recognized with the Golden Palm for Best Acting for her performance in the film.

These accolades highlight the significant presence and impact of Red Sea Fund-supported films within the Saudi and regional film industry. The support provided by the fund has been instrumental in advancing film projects from inception to their eventual screening before audiences and participation in festivals.

The Red Sea Fund also distinguished itself within the Production Market at the Saudi Film Festival by presenting four awards. Short-film honors were bestowed upon Shareet and Bin Jalmoud, while feature-film awards were granted to From Zero to a Thousand and Between the Two, the latter directed by Malak Quota.

The Red Sea Film Foundation's involvement in the Saudi Film Festival underscores its continued collaboration with local film events and its commitment to nurturing Saudi and Arab talent through various initiatives, including the Red Sea Fund, Red Sea Souk, and Red Sea Labs.
