Jeddah: The Red Sea International Film Festival is announcing the closing date for applications for the fourth edition of the "48 Hour Film Challenge," which is targeted towards talented young citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is being conducted in cooperation with the Alliance Française and the French Consulate in Jeddah. The Red Sea Film Festival aims to discover and support creative filmmakers between the ages of 18 and 25, providing them with the opportunity to develop their directing skills by producing short films within a short period of time. The initiative includes workshops and intensive courses on short filmmaking preceding the challenge. The festival will conclude with the screening of the films in September 2024 and the selection and crowning of the two winning teams. The winning teams will be given the opportunity to attend an artistic residency at the La Fémis School in France in 2025.
