Red Sea Environmental Monitoring Enhanced by New Buoy off Aseer Coast

General

Riyadh: The National Center for Environmental Compliance yesterday announced the successful installation of a new buoy designed to monitor the quality of Red Sea waters off the coast of Aseer Region, marking a significant step in the center's efforts to enhance marine environmental monitoring along Saudi Arabia's western coastline. This initiative aims to provide real-time data to better understand and manage the marine ecosystem in the area.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this newly deployed buoy is part of a larger network of monitoring systems planned for strategic locations across the Red Sea. Its primary objective is to continuously collect and analyze marine environmental data, thereby improving the efficiency of the Kingdom's response to any potential environmental changes. By installing such technology, Saudi Arabia is taking proactive measures to safeguard its marine environments against pollution, climate change, and other ecological threats.
