Riyadh: Saudi Red Crescent Authority emergency and volunteer teams revived the pulse of a Pakistani Umrah performer in his fifties who collapsed at the Grand Mosque's Tawaf (circumambulation) area while performing Umrah on Friday. The authority's command, control, and medical evacuation center received a report of an unconscious pilgrim, and upon arriving at the scene within two minutes, the teams found the pilgrim's pulse and breathing had stopped.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the teams performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, utilizing a LUCAS chest compression device and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) available throughout the Grand Mosque. The pilgrim's pulse was restored, and he was subsequently transferred to a medical facility for further care.
