Riyadh: The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has signed a collaboration agreement with the National Company for Agricultural Services (NCAS) to advance specialized agriculture and veterinary services across AlUla. This step, said an RCU press release issued today, reflects RCU's commitment to advancing AlUla's agricultural sector as a pillar of sustainable economic development and community empowerment.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement formalizes collaboration under unified service standards and joint mechanisms for capacity building, quality assurance, and performance monitoring. It brings together laboratories and testing operations; plant and animal quarantine; market and slaughterhouse services; streamlined licensing and certifications; and access to modern agricultural technologies-enhancing service quality and strengthening the farmer experience.
In addition, the partners will collaborate on agricultural festivals, events, exhibitions, advisory studies, and training programmes that support farmers and families working in the cottage industry across crop and livestock value chains. These initiatives aim to promote knowledge exchange, drive innovation, and encourage sustainable practices that safeguard resources while boosting competitiveness.
The partnership, added the release, reinforces national priorities by strengthening biosecurity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting food security. Guided by RCU's broader vision, this initiative builds resilience in AlUla's agricultural supply chain, empowers local communities, and contributes to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in creating a thriving economy, a vibrant society, and a sustainable future.
