Makkah: The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC), in collaboration with public and private sector partners, has launched the Smart Makkah Hackathon to engage national talent and empower the community to help shape the future of the city.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the hackathon is aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and aims to achieve leadership in technology and AI by transforming community-driven solutions into tangible initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The Smart Makkah Hackathon is structured around several key tracks, beginning with awareness and training programs and culminating in the development of implementable smart solutions. These solutions are designed to serve both residents and visitors of Makkah, while also improving services provided to pilgrims.
The commission emphasized that the hackathon serves as an open platform for adopting and implementing innovative ideas that bridge technology with societal needs.
Through the Smart Makkah Hackathon, the RCMC, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, is committed to pioneering a new approach to engaging local talent. The initiative provides young innovators with meaningful opportunities to make a tangible impact, positioning Makkah among the world's most advanced and smart cities.
