Doha, August 13 (QNA) – Qatari and Kuwaiti charities have launched an alliance to support the Burmese Muslims and coordinate efforts to provide them with urgent relief aid.
The launch of the alliance, chaired by the prominent Islamic preacher Nabil Al Awadhi, coincided with a two-day visit by a delegation representing associations and charitable organizations members in the alliance.
During the visit, the delegation inspected the conditions of new refugee camps in the region adjacent to the borders of Bangladesh with Myanmar (Burma), learnt closely about their humanitarian needs and provided emergency food aid.
The alliance includes Qatar Charity, Sheikh Eid Charity Foundation, Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services(RAF), Al Asmakh Charity and Kuwaiti Al Mabara Orphans Charity. (QNA)
