Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi, on Wednesday welcomed in the summer patriarchal residence in Dimane, the Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Ibrahim Abdel Aziz al-Sahlawi, who paid him a farewell visit marking the end of his diplomatic mission in Lebanon. Discussions reportedly touched on the overall developments on the local scene, especially the presidential election issue. Ambassador Sahlawi underlined the importance to elect a president of the republic as soon as possible,.stressing that “Qatar has always stood by Lebanon.” The Qatari envoy also pointed to “the historical friendship and deep love of the Qatari people for Lebanon and its people.”
