Qassim: The Qassim Camel Racetrack Project is moving steadily toward completion, covering an area exceeding 9 million square meters and featuring world-class engineering specifications that meet the highest international standards for camel racing infrastructure.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Governor of Qassim Region Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz is providing direct support and closely following up on the project as part of efforts to enhance heritage sports and strengthen elements of national identity, particularly the traditional sport of camel racing.
The racetrack features an 8-kilometer track, with construction progressing on schedule to meet planned deadlines.
Qassim Camel Racetrack Director General Abdullah Al-Badrani stated that the project represents a significant addition to the region's sports and heritage landscape. It is designed to provide a fully integrated environment for camel owners and enthusiasts, enabling the organization of races and related events in accordance with the highest standards.
He emphasized that the racetrack underscores the Kingdom's commitment to preserving national heritage and supporting cultural activities that reinforce the community's historical roots and cultural identity. Al-Badrani expressed hope that the venue will serve as a key host for major camel racing festivals and competitions at both the national and Gulf levels.
