Public Security and SAFIU Collaborate to Tackle Money Laundering

Riyadh: The General Directorate of Public Security has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Arabia Financial Investigations Unit (SAFIU) at the Presidency of State Security to enhance cooperation in combating money laundering and associated predicate offenses. Director of Public Security Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami and Head of SAFIU at the Presidency of State Security Major General Mohammed Al-Muhanna signed the MoU at the Public Security directorate's headquarters in Riyadh.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU aims to develop mechanisms for joint action, promote cooperation in training and development, strengthen capabilities in combating financial crimes, and enhance coordination and the exchange of information and expertise. The agreement reflects efforts to strengthen integration among security agencies and develop joint working mechanisms, supporting national efforts to combat money laundering and safeguard the Kingdom's security and resources.
