Riyadh: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is enhancing its tools to empower senior citizens, with the Privilege Digital Card for Seniors as a key initiative. This card aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by improving the quality of life and ensuring that seniors have access to their services and social rights, prioritizing their needs across government, private, and non-profit sectors.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Privilege Card is a smart digital identity automatically granted to male and female citizens who have reached the age of 60, without the need to submit applications or complete paper-based procedures, serving as a digital companion that facilitates transactions across various entities.
The card is not limited to serving as an identification symbol; it is a gateway to a package of on-the-ground facilitations that grant senior citizens absolute priority in accessing services provided by government, private, and non-profit entities. It also ensures comfort through allocating front-row seating and providing parking spaces close to entrances, embodying an integrated approach to caring for this group and ensuring a dignified standard of living.
Through this initiative, the ministry seeks to go beyond procedural services, aiming to raise societal awareness of the status of senior citizens and their historical role in building society. In the field of social responsibility, it encourages the private and third sectors to develop facilitative initiatives for this group. The achievements and figures reflect the scale of the card's benefits, with 1,213 government entities and affiliated bodies participating, and all senior citizens in the Kingdom benefiting from it. The next phase is expected to witness significant expansion of strategic partnerships, increased benefits for cardholders, and further enhancements to the overall user experience.
Through the Privilege Card, the ministry reaffirms its commitment to providing an enabling and supportive environment for senior citizens that ensures their active integration into society and documents the Kingdom's efforts to build a sustainable and comprehensive social care system for all citizens at different stages of life.
