Hail: The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques has completed the comprehensive restoration of Al-Jaloud Mosque in Hail Region as part of its first phase.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Al-Jaloud Mosque, which dates back to 1761 (1175 AH), is a 265-year-old landmark located in Samira Governorate. It served as a crucial stop on the ancient pilgrimage route that connected Makkah and Kufa. Originally constructed using mud, stone, and tamarisk wood, the mosque has seen multiple expansions over the years, including a significant one in 1371 AH that was funded by King Saud bin Abdulaziz.

The recent renovation was carried out by specialized Saudi firms and successfully increased the mosque's capacity from 80 to 129 worshippers, expanding its area to 250 square meters. The project employed modern building standards while preserving the mosque's traditional architectural identity, aligning with the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative. This vision aims to protect the Kingdom's urban heritage and restore historical sites for continued worship and cultural significance.
