Riyadh: Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Board Chairman of Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the second meeting of the Supreme Supervisory Committee for the History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Project.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project aims to establish a comprehensive knowledge reference documenting the history of the Two Holy Mosques and the rituals of Hajj and Umrah across the ages, while recording major milestones in their service. This initiative aligns with the national commitment to enhancing Islamic content and preserving the historical memory of the Muslim nation.
The project is under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with continued support from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Initially launched as a scholarly encyclopedia titled ‘Encyclopedia of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques,’ it expanded into a national initiative known as the History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Project, supervised by Darah in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah through the Pilgrim Experience Program.
The meeting’s agenda included the announcement of the Historical Events in the Prophetic Biography: Perspectives on Investigation and Documentation Forum, to be held in Madinah alongside the Umrah Forum. This forum aims to discuss plans for establishing a permanent museum dedicated to the history of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques.
