Hafr al-batin: Governor of Hafr Al-Batin Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Faisal today sponsored the launch of the 3rd Hafr Al-Batin International Rural Health Conference 2026, organized by the Hafr Al-Batin Health Cluster. The conference is attended by health sector leaders, experts, and specialists from within the Kingdom and abroad.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference features a series of specialized dialogue sessions, beginning with 'Diagnosing the Current State of Rural Health,' followed by 'Strategic Visions from Global and Regional Experiences,' and 'Practical Lessons Learned from Real-World Rural Health Practices.' A workshop titled 'The Role of Organizations and Institutions in Supporting Rural Health' highlighted the importance of institutional partnerships in ensuring the sustainability of health services in remote areas.

The conference also witnessed the signing of three cooperation agreements to strengthen the healthcare system in the governorate and rural communities. The first agreement, with the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), aims to develop integrated preventive programs, raise awareness, and reduce non-communicable diseases. The second, with the Rural WONCA Institute of Learning, focuses on training, capacity building, and the development of healthcare professionals' competencies. The third agreement with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health seeks to enhance cooperation in occupational safety and health and to promote safe and healthy work environments.

The two-day conference includes scientific sessions and specialized workshops showcasing global best practices in rural healthcare development, to strengthen institutional integration and position Hafr Al-Batin as a leading national center in this field, in line with the Health Sector Transformation Program and Saudi Vision 2030.
