Manama: Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari stated on Tuesday that the political and security challenges facing the Arab region require enhanced integration and joint Arab media efforts to confront them, with the aim of advancing prosperity and growth in Arab countries, fulfilling their hopes and aspirations. His remarks came while chairing the 19th executive bureau session of the Arab Information Ministers Council, held in Manama, Bahrain. It was attended by heads of Arab delegations, institutions, and associations practicing media tasks under the supervision of the Arab Information Ministers Council. Minister Al-Dosari emphasized the need for enhancing joint Arab media efforts to address the region's political and security challenges. 'Today, we convene to discuss 19 agenda items within the framework of Arab efforts aimed at developing joint Arab media work, with the Palestinian cause at the forefront,' the minister said. 'Recent developments in Gaza have highlighted the international communit y's failure to fulfill its responsibilities toward an immediate cessation of the occupation forces' aggression, delivering humanitarian aid, and finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause based on international legitimacy,' he stated. Al-Dosari pointed out that the Kingdom, through its leadership of the Arab Information Ministers Council executive bureau, has proposed a project for effectively and positively engaging with international media companies and their platforms. This contributes to safeguarding the rights and interests of Arab countries and creates an attractive environment for the industry, he noted. Al-Dosari indicated that the meetings discussed ways to enhance media content and benefit from the technological revolution in communication channels. He added that they also addressed key issues related to the media's role in combating terrorism, the Arab League's efforts in monitoring the Arab external action plan, and the Arab media map for sustainable development by 2030 .
