Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired on Tuesday17/5/2022 a meeting of the Coordinating Council for Monetary and Financial Policies in the presence of Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tareq Amer and Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saeed.
The prime minister said that the council’s meetings provide a great opportunity to review visions of the government and the CBE on the monetary and financial policies in light of the current global crisis.
Amer, for his part, said that the government and the CBE have highly coordinated stances over the past period in order to ensure the provision of goods and production requirements and determine and address reasons for the high inflation rates, which resulted from the current global crisis.
He also reviewed the CBE’s role in achieving financial market stability and combating inflation, and touched upon the credit facilities granted to the public and private business sectors.
