Passports Directorate Introduces E-Gate Technology at Jeddah and Madinah Airports to Serve Pilgrims

General

Jeddah: The General Directorate of Passports is deploying advanced technologies at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah to help pilgrims and visitors complete travel procedures quickly and efficiently.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the e-gate system allows pilgrims and visitors to complete entry and departure procedures independently by verifying their biometric data within seconds. This innovation is aimed at streamlining passenger flow and reducing waiting times at passport control during the Ramadan Umrah season.

The services are carried out across several key sites serving pilgrims and visitors, including major mosques, border crossings, and reception centers.
