Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the assassination of Hamas' Chief of Political Bureau Hamas and considered it a dangerous development. President Abbas called for Palestinian unity, resilience and patience in the face of the Israeli occupation. The Palestinian Islamic Movement (Hamas) announced, Wednesday, the assassination of its political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital, Tehran. The movement stated on their website that the faction's chief was "killed in a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran, after participating in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president".
