Islamabad, Pakistani Director General of Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro said that Saudi Arabia exerts all efforts to facilitate the Hajj journey, and introduces new initiatives, services in the Kingdom and abroad, to improve the Hajj experience. The first Makkah Route Initiative Hajj flight arrived in Madinah from Pakistan on May 9, Soomro told the Saudi Press Agency, pointing out the various facilities and comfort levels offered to Hajj pilgrims upon arrival at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (Madinah Airport). This year, the Kingdom expanded the Makkah Route Initiative to the Pakistani city of Karachi, the second after the capital, Islamabad, where this initiative is implemented, said Soomro who expressed hope that the initiative will next year cover other Pakistani provinces, such as Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta, and stressing that the initiative is applauded by Muslims around the world. Soomro expressed satisfaction with the fact that Pakistan was among the first countries to benefit fro m the initiative that facilitates pilgrims' Hajj procedures, adding that some 65,000 pilgrims from Pakistan are expected to perform Hajj this year.
