Pakistan: Caretaker Government Sworn in

Caretaker government in Pakistan on Thursday took the constitutional oath before Pakistani President Arif Alvi during a ceremony that took place in the presidential palace.

The new government, led by Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, included 16 ministers and three advisors.

Kakar, 52, affirmed in statements that his interim government will do its best to hold free and fair elections as soon as possible, and in full compliance with the principles of the country’s constitution.

He added his government will also work to find temporary solutions to citizens’ concerns until the next government assumes its duties.
