Medina:The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has introduced an extensive network of integrated navigational signage within the Prophet's Mosque. This initiative aims to facilitate smooth navigation and manage crowd movement efficiently through a combination of directional panels and digital screens.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the network consists of over 270 signs along with more than 100 electronic screens. These installations provide navigational guidance, awareness instructions, and updates on gate entries. A standardized color-coding framework is also employed to clearly mark different zones and destinations within the mosque.
The electronic screens offer real-time updates on gate capacities and access routes, enabling worshippers and visitors to choose the least congested paths. This system is designed to streamline pedestrian flow and improve the overall experience for visitors to the mosque.
