Makkah: Over 350,000 pilgrims have received multilingual support at the Grand Mosque, thanks to the ongoing efforts of the Hajj and Umrah gift association (Hadiyah) in collaboration with the Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. The project aims to assist non-Arabic speakers in understanding the rituals in their native languages.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the CEO of the association, Turki Al-Hutairshi, explained that the project is supported by a team of 100 translators who provide simultaneous interpretation in over 20 languages. This initiative ensures that pilgrims' inquiries are accurately conveyed to service providers within the Grand Mosque. The project operates around the clock during Ramadan to accommodate the high volume of visitors and to enhance the multilingual guidance efforts.
Since the beginning of Ramadan, the translation and inquiry response project has successfully served 356,869 beneficiaries, providing essential support to pilgrims and facilitating a more inclusive experience at the Grand Mosque.
