Over 350,000 Benefit from Translation and Inquiry Response Services at the Grand Mosque

Mecca: Over 350,000 pilgrims and visitors have benefited from the Translation and Inquiry Response Project at the Grand Mosque, spearheaded by the Hadiyah Charity Association for Pilgrims and Visitors in collaboration with the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. This initiative is designed to aid non-Arabic-speaking pilgrims and Umrah performers by providing them with accurate information and enhancing their religious experience at the Grand Mosque.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project is operational around the clock throughout the year, with increased efforts during peak periods like Ramadan and Hajj. This approach ensures the uninterrupted provision of services and improved efficiency during times of high demand. Eng. Turki Al-Hutairshi, the Chief Executive Officer of the association, reported that over 358,300 individuals have benefited from the project since its inception. The initiative operates through an integrated system with 351 qualified translators offering services in more than 20 languages, available 24 hours a day.

Al-Hutairshi elaborated that the project's offerings include simultaneous interpretation, coordination between inquirers and service providers, organization of beneficiary movement at service points, the provision of Saudi hospitality, and distribution of awareness publications. These services adhere to stringent organizational and operational standards.

The project is conducted at more than 16 field locations within the Grand Mosque and operates across four daily shifts. Translators are assigned according to a detailed operational plan that ensures continuous service and readiness, especially during peak seasons. This initiative is part of a wider array of programs by the association in partnership with the Presidency of Religious Affairs, aiming to enhance visitor experiences and foster collaboration with relevant stakeholders, aligning with leadership goals to serve visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
