Over 2,500 People Access Saudi National Geological Database in First Week.

Riyadh: Over 2,500 people from 17 countries have accessed the Saudi Geological Survey's (SGS) National Geological Database (NGD) within its first week of launch, downloading 1,476 digital data packages. According to Saudi Press Agency, the official spokesperson for SGS, Tariq Aba Alkhail, stated that users hailed from Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. Saudi Arabia recorded the highest number of requests and downloads, followed by Russia, Canada, the United States, South Africa, and Spain. The most sought-after data included general geological survey information, with a particular interest in magnetic geophysical surveys. Additionally, data concerning mineral locations in Saudi Arabia and geochemical surveys were in high demand. Spokesperson Aba Alkhail reiterated SGS's dedication to providing vital geological data to facilitate research and support projects across multiple sectors.
