Mecca: Over 238,000 users took advantage of the cart service provided during this year's Hajj season. The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque facilitated this initiative by offering more than 400 electric carts and 8,000 manual carts. Additionally, 12 carts were specifically dedicated to assisting pilgrims exiting the state of Ihram.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority ensured smooth and safe movement within the holy sites by designating specific lanes for electric vehicles. This measure prevented interference with pedestrian traffic and improved overall crowd management. The authority also deployed specialized maintenance teams to maintain the continuous and efficient operation of electric trolleys.

This cart service initiative is part of a larger strategy to enhance operational efficiency in asset and facility management. By leveraging smart technologies, the authority aims to improve service delivery and support data-driven decision-making during the Hajj season.
