According to Saudi Press Agency, this figure represents a 34% increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, highlighting the growing public reliance on bus services as a convenient and reliable mode of urban transportation that enhances quality of life.

Riyadh led all cities with more than 15 million passengers, followed by Makkah with over 4 million and Madinah with more than 1.3 million riders, boosted by the Ramadan season and the ongoing expansion of service networks.

In Jeddah, more than 1.1 million passengers used public buses. Eastern Region, covering Dammam and Qatif, reported more than 748,000 riders, reflecting sustained growth in one of the Kingdom's largest metropolitan areas.

Additional figures include over 193,000 passengers in Qassim, more than 161,000 in Taif, and over 104,000 in Jazan, underscoring the continued rise in demand since the launch of these projects.

These results reflect the ongoing efforts of the TGA, in collaboration with relevant entities, to improve the efficiency, reach, and appeal of in-city bus services. The initiatives align with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, supporting the shift toward more integrated and sustainable urban transportation systems.
