Mecca: The Saudi health sector has successfully delivered over 1,273,380 medical services to pilgrims from the start of the 1447 AH Hajj season through the 11th of Dhu Al-Hijjah. This achievement is part of the broader efforts to provide comprehensive healthcare support, ensuring that pilgrims can perform their rituals with ease and safety. According to Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Health data revealed that health centers and urgent care facilities attended to 68,237 beneficiaries. Emergency departments managed 52,709 cases, while outpatient clinics provided care to 21,253 patients. In addition, hospitals admitted 5,772 individuals, which included performing 365 major surgeries, 291 of which were cardiac catheterizations and 30 open-heart operations. Rapid-response field teams were instrumental in managing 1,260 cases of heat exhaustion, ensuring timely intervention. Furthermore, the 937 call center efficiently handled over one million inquiries, showcasing the integrated efforts guided by the Saudi Vision 2030 healthcare initiatives to offer accessible and premium care to all pilgrims.
