According to Saudi Press Agency, after finishing fourth in last year's edition, OpTic Gaming made a strong comeback, topping their group in the early rounds. The team advanced to the finals by defeating fellow North American rivals 100 Thieves 3-1 in the quarterfinals, and narrowly edging out Spain's Team Heretics 3-2 in a thrilling semifinal.
Their dominant performance in the final earned them the championship trophy and the top prize of $600,000. The victory also earned them 1,000 points in the highly competitive Club Championship standings, where 11 tournaments have concluded so far, with different teams claiming each title, highlighting the fierce competition this year.
OpTic Gaming player Mason Ramsey said, 'After beating Team Heretics in the semifinals, we were confident we could win the title if we stuck to our game plan. I'm proud of this achievement.' He praised teammate Anthony Cuevas-Castro, known as 'Shotzzy,' for his performance, noting that Shotzzy received the Sony Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and $10,000.
