Oman’s Cultural Vessel Shabab Oman II Reaches Jeddah

Jeddah: Jeddah Islamic Port welcomed the Omani sailing vessel Shabab Oman II yesterday, the largest Arab sailing ship. This arrival follows a six-month maritime journey during which the ship visited 13 countries and over 170 ports, promoting friendship, peace, and Omani heritage.

According to Saudi Press Agency, docked at the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina for two days, Shabab Oman II marks the penultimate stop of its international voyage before returning to Oman. The reception ceremony was attended by various officials, maritime representatives, and media organizations.

A successor to the original ship launched in 1979, Shabab Oman II, with a crew of 54, continues the legacy of Omani maritime history and promotes values of tolerance, cooperation, and cultural exchange. Its journey showcased Omani heritage through traditional clothing, handicrafts, and cultural exhibitions, serving as a maritime ambassador for the Sultanate.
