Tabuk: Tabuk Region is currently witnessing a striking spring landscape as white olive blossoms emerge across its groves. This stage, known as 'flowering,' marks the beginning of the olive harvest cycle and serves as an early indicator of a promising agricultural season in both quantity and quality. According to Saudi Press Agency, this phase follows a period of stable weather conditions, which has facilitated the smooth transition of olive buds from the vegetative stage to flowering. Blooming peaks in April each year, increasing the likelihood of successful fruit set and the development of fully mature olives. The flowering stage is a fundamental component of the olive production cycle, providing an early forecast of harvest potential. The density and quality of blossoms are closely linked to climatic conditions, proper tree nutrition, and the effectiveness of agricultural practices. Olive blossoms are distinguished by their white color and tubular form, signaling the trees' readiness for fruit formation. As the petals gradually fall, the fruit begins to form, with the pit hardening over approximately three months before the olives complete their growth stages, leading to ripening and harvest. Agricultural experts recommend moderate irrigation during this period while avoiding excessive watering to protect tree health. They also stress the importance of removing weeds that compete with olive trees for water resources, ensuring sustainable production and enhancing crop quality. The abundant flowering currently observed in Tabuk reflects strong positive indicators for a productive harvest season. This reinforces the region's status as one of the Kingdom's leading olive-producing areas and a key contributor to food security and agricultural economic growth.
