OIC Secretary General Welcomes US Decision to Lift Sanctions on Syria

Jeddah: Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Taha welcomed US President Donald Trump's decision to lift sanctions against the Syrian Arab Republic. He expressed appreciation for the move, highlighting the potential positive impact on the Syrian population. According to Saudi Press Agency, Taha commended the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in working toward the lifting of these sanctions. He expressed hope that this decision would contribute to easing the suffering of the Syrian people and create opportunities for a secure and prosperous future, fostering stability and reconstruction in the region.
