JEDDAH: The Jeddah-based General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) convened a meeting of the open-ended governmental expert group to deliberate on the draft statute of humanitarian funds. This initiative aligns with the directive of the Council of Foreign Ministers, aimed at addressing the ongoing humanitarian challenges. According to Saudi Press Agency, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha highlighted the urgent need for collective efforts and actions. The meeting was organized against a backdrop of severe humanitarian conditions, emphasizing the necessity for measures that could help manage these crises effectively.
