Amman: The eighth session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Conference of Health Ministers commenced on Wednesday in Amman, Jordan, under the theme 'Health is Our Shared Responsibility.'
According to Saudi Press Agency, the two-day conference brings together health ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives of international organizations and OIC institutions for high-level discussions and technical panels. It aims to adopt key resolutions and the Amman Declaration intended to strengthen the health sector in OIC member states.
The high-level panel during the conference focused on building equitable and resilient health systems to achieve universal health coverage and ensure health security, while emphasizing the need for sustainable financing and enhanced innovation in public health infrastructure.
The conference will conclude on Thursday with the adoption of reports, resolutions, and the Amman Declaration.
