Makkah: The National Water Company (NWC) announced the distribution of more than 45 million cubic meters of water to pilgrims in Makkah and the holy sites during the 1446 AH Hajj season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, water pumping operations began on the 1st of Dhu Al-Hijjah and continued around the clock in the vicinity of the Grand Mosque and the holy sites. Treated water volumes exceeded 33.4 million cubic meters, and more than 100,000 laboratory tests were conducted throughout this Hajj season to ensure water quality and safety.
NWC reported smooth operations with no major obstacles to managing the water supply in Makkah and the holy sites. The company successfully provided adequate quantities of water to public networks, restrooms, tent air conditioning systems in Mina, fire suppression systems, and Civil Defense storage tanks.
The company affirmed that preparations for the next Hajj season, 1447 AH, have already commenced, with the aim of maintaining high levels of comfort and service for pilgrims, allowing them to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.
