Riyadh: The National Water Company (NWC) announced today that it has achieved its operational targets in managing the water distribution system during the tourist season in Aseer and Al-Baha regions, and Taif Governorate. The NWC distributed more than 45.5 million cubic meters of water, reflecting its efficient performance and readiness to meet the increased demand for water during the tourist season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, technical and administrative teams worked around the clock to ensure continuity of service, deliver high quality water, and maintain operations. The NWC pointed out that its technical and operational staff efficiently implemented emergency and preventive maintenance plans, reducing disruptions and enabling immediate response to emergency notifications.

The company added that the regions of Aseer, Al-Baha, and Taif witnessed a significant increase in the number of visitors during the summer, which required doubling operational efforts and improving the readiness of water networks, pumping stations, and main lines. The NWC pumped more than 28.2 million cubic meters of water in Aseer and Al-Baha and distributed more than 17.3 million cubic meters in Taif. This represents a 16% increase compared to usual quantities during the non-tourist season. The company also treated over 22 million cubic meters of wastewater during the season using triple-treatment purification through environmental treatment plants spread across the targeted areas.

The NWC noted that it achieved remarkable stability in network performance by adopting the latest technologies for monitoring pumping operations and improving operational efficiency, in addition to having access to the specialized human resources dedicated to serving tourist areas. The company has affirmed its commitment to developing its operational system and improving its services to meet the expectations of citizens, residents, and visitors, contributing to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030's program of improving the quality of life.
