Riyadh: Livestock markets in the Northern Borders Region are experiencing a surge in purchasing as Ramadan approaches. In the final days of Sha'ban, citizens and residents buy sheep in preparation for the holy month since red meat features prominently in daily meals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Northern Borders branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has intensified inspections and awareness campaigns at markets and slaughterhouses ahead of Ramadan to ensure a safe and healthy environment for consumers.

Field inspection teams are working around the clock to monitor markets, detect violations, and enforce penalties in line with established regulations.
