Nonprofit Health Sector in Aseer Region Implements 148 Programs Benefiting Nearly 25,000 Individuals

Abha:The Ministry of Health branch in Aseer Region, through its Nonprofit Health Sector Unit, has facilitated the implementation of 148 health programs in the first half of 2026. These programs have served a total of 24,918 individuals, marking a significant step in enhancing healthcare delivery and expanding access to services in the region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the branch provided 30 hours of consultations as part of its efforts to bolster the nonprofit sector's role in healthcare. Additionally, the number of nonprofit healthcare organizations in Aseer has increased to 30, following the establishment of five new health associations. This development coincided with a volunteer competency development program conducted by the ministry in collaboration with Naseej, which saw participation from representatives across Saudi Arabia.

Among the initiatives, the Awn Association for Addiction Treatment achieved significant success with its 100-day program at the Abdullah Al-Rajhi Care and Rehabilitation Center. The program recorded a 93% completion rate after conducting over 940 therapy sessions, which included rehabilitation and aftercare services.

These accomplishments reflect the sector’s evolving role, emphasizing its shift from capacity building to delivering a sustainable impact on beneficiaries’ lives. This involves expanding care access, supporting recovery programs, and creating opportunities for social reintegration, thereby reinforcing its position as an effective partner in achieving the Ministry of Health’s objectives and enhancing the quality of life.
