New AI Curriculum to Launch in Saudi Schools as of 2025-2026 Academic Year

General

Riyadh: The National Curriculum Center, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), has announced the rollout of a new AI curriculum across all levels of public education, beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative supports the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program, one of the key programs of Saudi Vision 2030, by establishing a comprehensive education framework that builds future-ready skills and strengthens the Kingdom's global leadership in the field of AI. The curriculum aims to equip students with essential digital and analytical skills from an early age, empowering them to engage with emerging technologies and contribute to innovative, real-world solutions.

The new curriculum features dedicated AI units delivered through interactive and hands-on learning experiences. Its launch follows the recent introduction of 'Introduction to Artificial Intelligence', a foundational course developed jointly by SDAIA, the National Curriculum Center, and the Ministry of Education for third-year high school students.

This endeavor represents a significant milestone in preparing a generation of students who are not only informed about AI but also capable of shaping its future.
