NCW lauds new regulations by CBE on guardianship over minors accounts

The National Council for Women (NCW) expressed on Friday thanks to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for the issuance of new regulations organizing guardianship on minors’ banking accounts.

Under the new regulations, the guardian is allowed to disburse the profits of certificates or get the periodical pension without having to get an order from the prosecution or the relevant court.

The bank also allows opening bank accounts under the name of minors in any bank chosen by the guardian.

Council chairperson Maya Morsi expressed happiness over these new regulations, saying they come in response to the council’s recommendations to address challenges facing women in guardianship-related affairs.
