Madinah: The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) is focused on enhancing and sustaining vegetation cover in Madinah Region, making significant efforts which have achieved notable green indicators since 2023.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in the Rayyis coastal area, over 500,000 mangrove seedlings have been planted, with plans for an additional 500,000 to develop coastal areas and preserve their natural environments. Additionally, more than six million trees have been planted in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and other relevant entities.
Over 300,000 trees were also planted in the Al-Bayda Park and 50,000 trees in Madinah National Park, improving quality of life and increasing vegetation cover.
These efforts are part of a national strategy to sustain environmental resources, combat desertification, and raise awareness about preserving natural vegetation across the Kingdom.
