Jeddah: President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, held a meeting with Ghada Waly, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), today. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the forthcoming first annual general meeting of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA-ARIN), which is scheduled for tomorrow in Jeddah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions between Al-Kahmous and Waly centered on enhancing cooperation between Nazaha and UNODC. The focus was on promoting integrity, combating corruption, and sharing international expertise and experiences in asset recovery. Both parties explored avenues to strengthen existing partnerships through joint programs and initiatives.
The meeting also highlighted international best practices for increasing transparency and boosting national capacities in corruption prevention. The discussions included potential collaborations on implementing relevant initiatives aimed at these goals.
Al-Kahmous concluded the meeting by commending UNODC's active participation in the MENA-ARIN meeting. He expressed his gratitude for the collaboration and reiterated his hope for sustained coordination and joint efforts to combat corruption and promote integrity.
