National Greening Program Utilizes Mobile Lab to Boost Environmental Goals

General

Riyadh: The National Greening Program (NGP) is making significant strides in environmental sustainability, aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative's goal of planting 10 billion trees. To achieve this, the program has introduced the NGP Mobile Lab, a key tool that enhances the efficiency and quality of afforestation efforts.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this mobile lab conducts on-site analyses of soil, water, and plants, while also monitoring environmental factors like humidity and plant health. By providing real-time data, it allows for faster, more accurate decision-making, which in turn improves seedling success rates, reduces project losses, and lowers costs. This data is instantly linked to the databases of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification.

The use of this technology is a crucial step toward rehabilitating 40 million hectares of land and combating desertification, reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to the goals of Saudi Vision.
