Najran’s SAR227 Billion Mineral Wealth Highlighted at Investment Forum

Najran: Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development Abdullah Alahmari stated that the estimated value of untapped mineral wealth in Najran Region has increased from SAR145 billion to over SAR227 billion, following recent updates to the general geological survey program.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Alahmari, during the opening session of the Najran Investment Forum, emphasized the region's abundance of strategic minerals such as gold, silver, copper, and zinc. He mentioned that Najran houses four mining reserve sites, mineralized sulfide belts, and 27 mining complexes, alongside three newly designated complexes for ordinary sand.

Alahmari also brought attention to the international recognition gained by Najran granite for its superior quality and competitive advantage, with exports reaching about 28 countries, including Gulf states, France, Germany, and the United States.

He further noted that the number of factories in the Kingdom has exceeded 12,000, with the ministry's goal to expand the industrial base to 36,000 by 2035. In Najran, there are currently 90 factories with investments surpassing SAR4.8 billion and industrial loans amounting to SAR880 million.
