Najran Emerges as a Leading Agricultural Hub in Saudi Arabia

Najran: Environmental, natural, and geographical factors have made Najran one of Saudi Arabia's leading agricultural regions. Agriculture has long been a fundamental pillar for local communities, supporting food security and strengthening the local economy.

According to Saudi Press Agency, farmers have benefited from the region's favorable landscape, enabling them to continuously supply local markets while adopting modern and innovative farming methods such as greenhouses and vertical farming. These techniques have boosted production and reduced water consumption, reflecting the professionalism of Najran's farmers in developing sustainable organic produce free from chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Fertile soil, moderate climate, and abundant water resources have further supported this growth.

Najran is known for diverse crops including tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, zucchini, peppers, leafy greens, citrus fruits, grapes, dates-especially the famous Al-Bayadh dates-and wheat varieties.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has also supported farmers through workshops and training programs, enhancing productivity, sustainability, and local economic development.
