Riyadh: The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the joint statement from the recent high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.
According to Saudi Press Agency, MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa congratulated the Kingdom and other nations on the conference's success, highlighting the international commitments that resulted from the meeting, including official recognition of the Palestinian state.
The conference led to the adoption of the New York Declaration, which received support with 142 votes from the UN General Assembly. Al-Issa stated that this consolidated the international commitment to the two-state solution and charted a path to building a better future.
Al-Issa expressed the MWL's appreciation for Saudi Arabia's position on the Palestinian issue, citing the efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that the conference's success represents a shift in the course of the Palestinian issue.
