Riyadh: Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail met Wednesday with Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos on the sidelines of Cityscape Global 2025, held in Riyadh. Discussions covered cooperation and the exchange of expertise in urban development and local governance, while showcasing the Cypriot city’s experience in municipal merger and unification. They also discussed the implementation of smart-city initiatives and digital transformation, improving service efficiency and transparency.
According to Saudi Press Agency, talks also explored sustainability and urban mobility initiatives, technical cooperation opportunities, expert exchange programs, as well as the role of municipalities in supporting urban economic development and attracting investment. Both officials emphasized the importance of international partnerships in enhancing municipal services and improving quality of life.
