Geneva: Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail concluded his official visit to Switzerland with a meeting with Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Gilbert F. Houngbo at ILO's headquarters in Geneva.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's firm commitment to promoting social justice and labor rights in line with international standards and conventions. This commitment arises amid an urban transformation occurring across the Kingdom.
The minister shared the Ministry's efforts in city development, work environment improvement, and the Kingdom's pioneering approach in providing group housing adhering to quality and safety standards. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life for all residents in Saudi Arabia.
An official invitation was extended by the minister to the ILO director-general and several advisors to visit Saudi Arabia. The visit would provide firsthand insight into the mega projects and worker facilities, showcasing the comprehensive labor market reforms implemented by the Kingdom.
He expressed the Kingdom's desire for expanded cooperation with the International Labour Organization to support shared goals, especially as the Kingdom's development progresses, increasing the workforce involved in major projects, and necessitating coordinated efforts.
