Riyadh: Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail on Sunday inaugurated the Global Project Management Forum (GPMF 2025), hosted in the capital, Riyadh, in the presence of Mayor of Eastern Region Eng. Fahad Al-Jubeir, with the participation of specialists, experts, and decision-makers from around the world.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in his opening remarks, the minister affirmed that Saudi Vision 2030 was launched to shape an ambitious future that redefines the economic, social, and developmental landscape. He noted that project management has become a strategic approach and a key tool for driving change and achieving sustainable impact, rather than merely an executional option.
The minister pointed out that the national projects council plays an increasingly vital role in unifying efforts and enhancing performance efficiency, while government project-management offices contribute to strengthening planning, monitoring, and governance practices to ensure quality implementation aligned with national objectives.
Minister Al-Hogail indicated that the success of this approach requires clear objectives, flexible systems, innovative planning, and integrated roles among various entities.
Moreover, he noted that the construction sector in the Kingdom includes over 133,000 establishments and more than 1.6 million individuals contributing daily to building a new reality, smart cities, and comprehensive development.
He added that project management enhances institutional capacity for prediction, responsiveness, and execution, and contributes to improved performance and higher quality outcomes.
The GPMF is one of the prominent international events in the field, gathering over 13,000 specialists and interested parties from more than 100 countries. It features 120 international speakers, 60 panel discussions, and 16 training workshops, reflecting the Kingdom's leading role in driving developmental and institutional transformations at the global level.
